Record number attend all night vigil!

Around 100 people turned out for a prayer vigil for human life outside an abortion clinic as part of the 40 days for lifecampaign on Friday 4th November. Father Paschal Ryan, Episcopal Vicar for Westminster Diocese represented Bishop Alan Hopes during the candle lit vigil. The campaign has drawn the support of a number of Church leaders who have helped to inaugurate a new springtime for pro-life work in London. The attendees read an examination of conscience, prayed the Rosary, Stations of the Cross and a litany for life. The vigil continued all night and continued throughout the next day as part of the record breaking London campaign.

During the 40 days for life campaign in London this year, over 8 women who were scheduled for an abortion chose life for their babies, more than 1,000 people took part in the prayer vigil over a 40 day period and even biased media outlets promoted a positive pro-life message. A number of women were introduced to healing post abortion ministries and over 10 Church communities were welcoming in promoting a positive and upbeat pro-life message to their congregation. The campaign includes encouraging Christians to pray and fast for an end to abortion and conducting community outreach by taking a positive and upbeat pro-life message to the community.

The 40 days for life campaign was run this Autumn in 301 cities worldwide. 16 abortion clinics have gone out of business, 53 abortion workers have quit their jobs as a result of 40 days for life campaigns, more than 4,000 children have been spared from abortion and over 400,000 people have participated in campaigns making it the largest grassroots pro-life organization in the world.

The closing party for the campaign is on Friday 11th November, St Augustine’s Social Club, 55 Fulham Palace Road, Hammersmith at 730pm. All are welcome.
